International Capacity Building Initiatives for Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments Personnel

Facilitated international capacity-building initiatives for staff members and religious scholars of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, strengthening institutional expertise, professional competency, and international scholarly engagement in the administration of Islamic affairs and religious services in the Maldives. These initiatives were implemented through fully funded study tours, professional exchange programmes, and institutional collaboration with foreign governments and international Islamic institutions, providing opportunities for Maldivian scholars and technical staff to gain exposure to international best practices in Islamic administration, religious outreach, media production, and heritage management.

  • In 2024, facilitated the participation of six Maldivian religious scholars in a study visit to the People’s Republic of China, focusing on Islamic heritage preservation, institutional management practices, and intercultural engagement, enabling scholars to broaden their understanding of Islamic heritage management within diverse global contexts.
  • In 2025, coordinated a professional exchange programme hosted by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan, through which five staff members of the Islamic Studio of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs received specialized training in religious media production, broadcasting techniques, and digital content development, strengthening the Ministry’s capacity to produce high-quality Islamic educational media.
  • Through collaboration with institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, facilitated international study tours and training programmes for Ministry personnel, including 42 female staff members between 2024 and 2025, and 20 male staff members, enabling them to participate in specialized training programmes focused on Islamic scholarship, religious administration, and institutional leadership.
