Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed is the Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowments of the Republic of Maldives and Chairman of the Maldives Zakat House. He also serves as the Alternate Governor of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) for the Maldives, a member of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (OIC), and a member of the Supreme Council of the Muslim World League.

A Hafiz of the Qur’an, Islamic scholar, and academic leader, Dr. Shaheem played a key role in establishing several Islamic academic institutions, including the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM). He has made significant contributions to Islamic education, Shariah governance, public policy, and international Islamic cooperation.

Dr. Shaheem is a recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Leadership Award from both the Islamic University of Madinah and the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He has also been recognized among The 500 Most Influential Muslims in recognition of his contributions to Islamic scholarship, public service, and the Muslim world.
